You can’t go wrong by starting out with this kit. The Alesis Nitro Mesh Kit further added upon this by having all mesh pads for the snare and tom pads, which was a significant improvement in the playability of the set. The overall quality of these kits were considerably better than many of the other budget e-drum sets I played on, which often felt like playing clunky toys. This can feel less natural and impede learning.Īlesis made some big plays on the electronic drum set market a few years ago with their DM-6 kit, followed by the Alesis Nitro Kit. Many starter kits just have simple bass pedals without a beater. This kit uses an actual kick pedal and pad, which retains the correct motion of playing a real bass drum. This means that it’s quite useful for those that want a quiet practice set. This allows a drummer to easily be able to transition the motions of playing to acoustic drums. Thanks so much for reading. The kit is set up in similar positions to an acoustic drum kit. Is there something I can do to change what note garage band is listening on for my floor tom? It clearly is not listening to my trigger transmitting on note 43 !!!!!! And Garageband seems to be listening to note 43 when I’m in the keyboard and/or smart guitar instruments. The Transmit note numbers for each of the triggers are as follows: Kick – 36, Snare – 38, Tom1 – 48, Tom2 – 45, Tom3 – 43, Crash – 49, Ride – 51, Hi Hats open – 46, Hi Hats Closed – 42, Kick Drum – 44.

When I switch back to drums there was once again NO FLOOR TOM SOUND!!!!! I downloaded the manual for the Roland HD-1 drums and as per usual the midi channel is 10. Thankfully It wasn’t a problem with the drum module or triggers. Every one of the triggers and pedals and all the cymbals worked perfect. So I switched the instrument in Garageband to smart guitar. I then questioned if I had a problem with the floor tom trigger. Hi hats open and close, crash works, Kick, Snare, ride and both of toms 1 and 2. Everything was an awesome sound… except the floor tom trigger has NO SOUND!!!!!! Everything else in the drum set works great. The kick drum was solid and punchy, the snare was great. WOW !!!!!! awesome drum sounds from my Roland HD-1 Drums. I plugged the other end into my iPad, turned on Garageband and selected drums. I plugged it into the midi out of the Roland HD-1 drums.

Recently I invested in an Irig Pro interface. They have good drum sounds but not great. I have a set of Roland HD-1 Electronic Drums. I have seen all of the tutorials on YouTube regarding V-Drums with Logic Pro (literally, all of them) and went through countless message boards online (including the apple community for Logic) but nothing is totally specific to solve my problem! Is this correct? If anyone could break this down in simple steps from setting up device on Mac (if required) to connecting to Logic (and make it recognise the V-Drums!) I would be eternally grateful!

Naively, after I connected, I have tried creating a software instrument and then went on to select a drum kit for this instrument from the library (SoCal to be specific), expecting to get some sounds when I bash away, but nothing.
